AWS Week in Review - December 8, 2014

Let's take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday, December 8	We announced that you can now Delete all Messages in an Amazon SQS Queue. We announced an AWS OpsWorks Update with Support for Existing EC2 Instances and On-Premises Servers. The AWS Mobile Development Blog invited you to Learn More About AWS Mobile Services - Slides and Videos from AWS re:Invent 2014. A post on the AWS Application Management Blog talked about Using OpsWorks to Perform Operational Tasks.
Tuesday, December 9	We announced new AWS Public Data Sets for Earth Science - CGIAR and Landsat. We announced that Amazon Zocalo is now Available in the Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region. We announced that an Update to AWS Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 is Now Available . A guest post on the AWS Startup Collection talked about Modern Data Integration with Mortar and Redshift. A post on the 2nd Watch Blog taught you How to be Your Company's Cloud Champion in 2015. The AWS Application Management Blog talked about Adding Comments Inside AWS CloudFormation Templates.
Wednesday, December 10	We announced that Amazon Elastic Transcoder Now Supports Pass-Through Metadata for Jobs. A post on the AWS Enterprise Blog described the Enterprise Cloud Journey. Over the past few months, I've had the opportunity to speak to dozens of our enterprise customers across many industries, hailing from all over the world. Combining this with my experience transforming Dow Jones and News Corp into a cloud-first enterprise, I've noticed a common journey pattern emerge. A post on the AWS Java Blog talked about Taming Client-side Key Rotation with the Amazon S3 Encryption Client. A post on the AWS Ruby Development Blog talked about Using Amazon RDS with Ruby on Rails and AWS OpsWorks.
Thursday, December 11	We announced Data Retrieval Policies and Audit Logging for Amazon Glacier. The developers at Stripe posted AWS-Go, an automatically generated set of AWS clients in Go.
Friday, December 12	An article on the AWS Big Data Blog talked about Getting HBase Running on Amazon EMR and Connecting it to Amazon Kinesis. An article in CIO Review talked about Designing and Building Applicaiton Security and Layering it on top of AWS. A post on the 2nd Watch Blog talked about Decommissioning Yamaha's Data Center. A post on the 2lemetry Technical Blog talked about Visualizing AWS Lambda Consumption with ThingFabric.
